Sunday 7 October
NegomboOn arrival in Sri Lanka, transfer to the nearby seaside town of Negombo (approx. 20 mins) and check in to the Jetwing Beach Hotel. Remainder of day at leisure to recover from the long journey
Monday 8 October bc
NegomboEnjoy a day at leisure relaxing on the beach or by the pool as you slip into ‘Sri Lanka time’.
This evening we will host our ‘Welcome’ Cocktail Party on the beach – a chance to meet the rest of your group. Canapés and drinks included.
Tuesday 9 October b
Negombo-HabaranaThis morning we depart Negombo and travel by luxury coach to Habarana in the Cultural Triangle (approx. four hours). Upon arrival, we will check into the Cinnamon Lodge for the next six nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure as you settle into your beautiful, natural surroundings.

Thursday 11 October b
Habarana-Anuradhapura-HabaranaThis morning we visit the archaeological site of Sri Lanka’s first capital – the UNESCO World Heritage listed Sacred City of Anuradhapura. See the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world – over 2,200 years old – the sacred Bodhi Tree, which was allegedly propagated from the original Bodhi tree, under which the Buddha gained enlightenment, and numerous archaeological and architectural structures, some of which are still used to this day.
Friday 12 Octoberb
Habarana-Sigiriya-Minneriya-HabaranaAnother day, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This morning we head to the nearby ruins of the 5th century city, Sigiriya. If you wish, you may climb the paths and steps to the top of the 180 metre high rock fortress, upon which King Kassapa had built his palace.
Late afternoon, we will head to Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari. Minneriya is most famous for its large elephant and bird populations but you may also spot deer, sambar, monkeys and, very rarely, leopards.

HabaranaDay at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the Cinnamon Lodge and beautiful, natural surroundings of the Habarana area.
Monday 15 Octoberbl
Habarana-Dambulla-Matale-KandyWe depart Habarana this morning and head towards Kandy.
En-route we visit yet another World Heritage Site – the remarkable Golden Temple of Dambulla which sits 160 metres above road level and consists of 5 caves featuring numerous murals and approx. 150 statues of Buddha. Next stop is a Spice Garden in Matale where we will learn about the myriad spices grown in Sri Lanka.
Following lunch (included) we will continue on to Kandy where we will check in to the Earl’s Regency Hotel for the next three nights.
Tuesday 16 Octoberbc
KandyToday we will take you on a sightseeing tour of the World Heritage Listed Sacred City of Kandy driving around the spectacular Kandy Lake and stopping off at the bazaar. We will also visit some local shops where you can see (& buy if you wish) the specialty arts, crafts and gems of the region and country. We then proceed to the excellent Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Later we will visit the famed Temple of the Tooth Relic where one of Buddha’s teeth is reverently stored – well out of sight!
This evening, we will host a private ‘Cricket’ Cocktail Party where you will have the opportunity to hear the opinions of, and meet and chat personally with, our cricket celebrity guest. Drinks & canapés included.

3rd ODI, Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium, Kandy (Day/Night)Return transfers to the stadium included.
Thursday 18 Octoberb
Kandy-Nuwara EliyaThis morning we head up into the mountainous tea country, stopping off at a plantation for a tour of the factory and a refreshing cuppa! We then proceed to the quaint hill-station town of Nuwara Eliya, which is often referred to as Little England. After a short orientation tour, we will check into the Grand Hotel.
Friday 19 Octoberb
Nuwara Eliya-Horton Plains-KandyIt is an early start if you wish to join us on an exploration of Horton Plains. The trip involves a medium difficulty trek of 9kms (approx. 4 hours) and takes in the famous ‘World’s End’ where the plains give way to a 900 metre escarpment. Alternatively, you may like to spend the morning on the Nuwara Eliya Championship golf course (own expense). In the afternoon we will coach back to Kandy and check back into the Earl’s Regency Hotel in preparation for tomorrow’s match.

Monday 22 OctoberbToday we say goodbye to Kandy and wend our way to Colombo (approx. 4 hour journey). On arrival we check in to the Taj Samudra Hotel for three nights.

Wednesday 24 Octoberbd
ColomboToday is a reserve day in case the 5th ODI is weather affected. Otherwise, we will take you on a half day tour of Colombo visiting the commercial area of the Fort, the Pettah – oriental bazaar, Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square and the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens.
This evening we will host our celebratory end of tour dinner. Includes 3 courses and drinks
Thursday 25 October b
Colombo-UKToday we say goodbye as we transfer you to the Bandaranaike International Airport for your flight home (most arrive in the UK on the same day).
