As the name suggest there is a very English feel to
Christchurch. Known as ‘the garden city’, the South
Island’s largest conurbation is located on the banks of
the Avon River. It is a colorful, cosmopolitan city with
award-winning gardens, exciting festivals, theatres,
modern art galleries, and great shopping. Grey stoned
19th century buildings in tree-lined avenues along side
extensive leafy parks give the city an elegant
atmosphere.
The city prides itself on its outstanding
cultural identity and the reputation it has for 'the
