The 1st Test will be an historic occasion as Auckland’s legendary Eden Park hosts New Zealand’s very first day/night Test match. Apart from the cricket, the ‘City of Sails’ is a beautiful place to visit and to enjoy the world famous hospitality and friendliness of the locals. If you have time, you may wish to join our pre-Test tour to the stunning Bay of Islands.

Sunday 18 March

Fly UK to New Zealand
Because of the range of choices, we do not include the international flights in our tour price. However, we can arrange them for you taking into account your closest UK departure point, airline preference, class of travel and/or stopovers you may wish to make. Contact us to discuss your requirements. You are also free to book your own flights and/or use frequent flyer points. Whichever way you choose, you will be met at the airport on your arrival into NZ and whisked to your hotel by private transfer.

Arrival in Auckland
On arrival in Auckland, you will be privately transferred to the Langham hotel for check in. Remainder of day is at your leisure to recover from the long journey.

Wednesday 21 March blc

This morning join us for a guided tour of the “City of Sails”, including visits to Bastion Point, Parnell Village and Viaduct Harbour, followed by a cruise on the harbour and a leisurely lunch.
This evening, get to know your fellow tourists a little better at our ‘Welcome’ Cocktail Party. Canapés and drinks included.

Thursday 22 – Monday 26 March b

1st Test, Eden Park, Auckland (Day/Night)
The Test series gets under way today at an unfamiliar time, as Eden Park hosts New Zealand’s first day/night Test match. With relatively short boundaries, we may well see some fireworks from the likes of Ben Stokes! Daily coach transfers are included.

Friday 23 March bc

Before the cricket, we will host a private ‘Cricket’ cocktail party where you will have the opportunity to hear the opinions of, and meet and chat personally with, our cricket celebrity guest. Drinks & canapés included.

Monday 26 March bl

On the last day of the Test match, join us for a celebratory end of Test lunch, after which we will watch the closing day/night of the match (if it goes that far).

Tuesday 27 March b

Today we transfer to the airport to either fly back home to the UK or on to Christchurch for the 2nd Test.

Christchurch has bounced back from the earthquake of 2011 with great resilience and creativity in re-building the city, with new structures such as the cardboard Cathedral, the shipping container mall and the new cricket stadium on Hagley Oval, where the 2nd Test will be played. Following the Christchurch Test, you have the opportunity to join our escorted South Island Highlights optional extension.

Today we take you on a guided half day tour of the city of Christchurch. Learn about the effects of the 2011 earthquake and see how the city is rebuilding. Enjoy the serenity of the River Avon and lunch at the Curators House, located in the stunning Botanic Gardens.
This evening join us for our ‘Welcome to Christchurch’ Cocktail Party. Canapés and drinks included.

Thursday 29 March b

A day at leisure to explore Christchurch at your own pace. You may like to go whale watching at Kaikoura or take the Tranz Alpine Railway to Arthurs Pass and Greymouth (supplement payable).

Friday 30 March – Tuesday 03 April b

2nd Test, Hagley Oval, Christchurch
The 2nd Test will be held at the Hagley Oval – Christchurch’s new international cricket ground following the catastrophic earthquake damage to Lancaster Park/AMI Stadium. The new ground is much more of a cricket ground and less of a stadium, so the ambiance is perfect for Test cricket. And being located in the middle of Hagley Park means you can choose to either walk from the hotel alongside the River Avon (25 mins) or take our daily coach transfer.

This evening we will host a private ‘Cricket’ cocktail party/forum where you will have the opportunity to meet and chat personally with our celebrity cricket guest. Canapés and drinks are included.

Take in both Tests of the series in New Zealand’s two most iconic cities. Start in Auckland – the North Island’s beautiful ‘City of Sails’ – for the historic first day/night Test match to be held in NZ, at the legendary Eden Park.  We then fly to the South Island’s rejuvenated gem of a city – Christchurch – for the 2nd Test at Hagley Oval. The lakes and mountains of southern New Zealand have to be seen to be believed – they are truly breathtaking and no photo or video can do them justice – you really do have to see them for yourself! Our tour takes you by luxury, air-conditioned coach from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo, Aoraki/Mount Cook, Tasman Glacier, Queenstown and lastly to the awesome Fiordland National Park by light aircraft.

Sunday 11 Marchbld

We depart Christchurch this morning and travel south across the Canterbury Plains, then turn inland to Mackenzie Country (named after a 19th century sheep rustler) where we will stop for lunch at Morelea Farm. After lunch we will proceed to the beautiful, turquoise coloured Lake Tekapo. We make a stop to view the Church of the Good Shepherd before proceeding to Peppers Bluewater Resort, where we will base ourselves for two nights. Buffet dinner in the hotel is included this evening.

Monday 12 Marchbld

This morning we travel past Lake Pukaki to Aoraki/Mt Cook – at 3,754 metres it is the highest peak in Australasia. There will be the opportunity to take an alpine trail walk and/or visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre. We will also get up close and personal with Tasman Glacier as we board a custom built boat to journey across the Tasman Glacier Terminal Lake. Lunch is included, as is a buffet dinner this evening back at Peppers Bluewater Resort.

Tuesday 13 Marchb

Today we continue on through yet more stunning scenery up to Lindis Pass, alongside the mighty Clutha River and through the spectacular Kawarau gorge to Arrowtown gold-rush village and then on to NZ’s premier year-round alpine resort – Queenstown. Queenstown sits on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. Upon arrival, check in to The Rees Hotel for the next three nights.

Wednesday 14 Marchb

This morning we take a spectacular 35 minute flight across glaciers, rivers, lakes & rainforest to the truly spectacular Fiordland National Park where we will take an unforgettable scenic cruise through the sheer mountains of stunning Milford Sound. We will also return to Queenstown by air.

N.B. Flights may be cancelled if weather conditions are poor, in which case we will reschedule the trip for the following day by coach to Milford (approx. 5 hours) and return by air (again weather permitting).

Thursday 15 Marchb

Day at leisure. A chance to enjoy one or more of the optional activities Queenstown has to offer. Renowned for adventure sports such as bungy jumping and jetboat rides, it is also a base for exploring the region’s vineyards and historic mining towns.
This evening you might like to join the vintage steam ship, TSS Earnslaw for a cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Station for dinner (supplement payable).

Friday 16 Marchb

Today we depart Queenstown by air back to the UK, or you may wish to continue on to our Pre-Test Tour to the Bay of Islands.

1st ODI, Seddon Park, Hamilton (Day/Night)
To make the most of our time, this morning we will check out of our Auckland hotel and travel down to Seddon Park, Hamilton (approx. 1.5 hours) for today’s day/night ODI commencing at 2pm. At the conclusion of the game we will carry on to the Millennium Hotel, Rotorua (approx. 1.5 hours) where your room and luggage will be ready and waiting for a two night stay.

Monday 26 February bd

After yesterday’s long day, we will have a leisurely morning before heading out for a tour of Rotorua including the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve to see the boiling mud pools, steaming silica terraces and the geyser activity. This evening enjoy a traditional Maori ‘Hangi’ meal and cultural show.

Tuesday 27 February b

Today is free for you to do as you wish. Rotorua offers dozens of optional activities including taking a dip in a thermal pool, having a mud wrap and taking the gondola to the summit of Mt Ngongotaha.

Wednesday 28 February bl

2nd ODI, Mt Maunganui, Tauranga (Day/Night)
Late morning we will coach across to Tauranga (approx. one hour) for a mooch around the seafront and a leisurely lunch before heading to the 2nd ODI, which is a day/night game at nearby Bay Oval, Mt Maunganui. At the close of play, we will transfer back to Rotorua.

Thursday 01 March b

This morning, enjoy a late check out before we head to Rotorua airport for our afternoon flight to the national capital, Wellington. Upon arrival we check into the Sofitel hotel for a four night stay.

Friday 02 March blc

Join us on a guided day exploring the city of Wellington, the harbour and the surrounding hills. Included is a 90 minute guided tour of the world renowned Te Papa – NZ’s National Museum – as well as a visit to Zealandia – a 225 hectare urban eco-sanctuary of native forest and 40 species of birds. Lunch is included.
This evening, we will host a private ‘Cricket’ cocktail party where you will have the opportunity to hear the opinions of, and meet and chat personally with, our cricket celebrity guest. Drinks & canapéés included.

Saturday 03 March b

3rd ODI, Wellington (Day/Night)
Enjoy a morning at leisure before either walking the one mile or joining our return coach transfers to the nearby Westpac Stadium.

Take a day to yourself to do as much or as little as you like in Wellington!

Monday 05 March b

Today we leave the North Island as we fly from Wellington to Dunedin – our first stop on the South Island. On arrival we will transfer to Scenic Hotel Dunedin City where we will check in for a 3 night stay.

Tuesday 06 March bl

Join us for a full day tour of the region, starting with a visit to the Royal Albatross Colony at Taiaroa Heads. Enjoy lunch at the beautiful Glenfalloch Gardens, before a scenic rail journey on board the Taieri Gorge Excursion train from Dunedin to Pukerangi.

Wednesday 07 March b

4th ODI, Dunedin
Today’s game is at the beautiful University Oval and is a ‘day game’. Return coach transfers included.

Thursday 08 March bl

Today we travel by coach to Christchurch (approx. 5 hours). We make a stop at the fascinating Moeraki boulders, before continuing onto the coastal town of Oamaru. We then travel north to visit the Akaunui Historic House & Gardens where we will enjoy a delicious lunch, before the last leg of our journey into Christchurch to check into the Crowne Plaza hotel for a 3 night stay.

Friday 09 March bl

Join us for a tour of the city of Christchurch. We include punting on the River Avon, and lunch at the Curators House, located in the stunning Botanic Gardens.

Saturday 10 March bd

5th ODI, Christchurch
Another ‘day game’ awaits – this time at the relatively new cricket ground in Hagley Park. Either walk (just over a mile) or join our return coach transfers.
This evening join us for our celebratory end of tour dinner. Includes 3 courses and drinks.

Sunday 11th March b

Transfer to Christchurch airport to check in for your flight to the UK or continue onto our South Island Highlights Tour
