Saturday 23 December b cOn arrival in Melbourne, transfer to the Crown Promenade Hotel. Remainder of the day is ‘at leisure’ for you to recover from your journey.
Sunday 24 December b l cToday we take you on a tour of Melbourne including a behind the scenes look at ‘Melbourne’s mecca’ – the mighty Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). We will also visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, the vibrant seaside suburbs of St Kilda and Albert Park – around which the F1 Grand Prix is raced. Lunch included.
This evening join us for our ‘Welcome’ Cocktail Party. Canapés and drinks are included.
Monday 25 December – Merry Christmas! b lTake a leisurely start to the day with a light breakfast and perhaps a walk along the Southbank before partaking in a fabulous Christmas Day lunch. Enjoy a sumptuous feast and premium beverages, with entertainment to complete the festive mood.
Tuesday 26th – Saturday 30th December b
4th Test, Melbourne Cricket GroundAt the Ashes Boxing Day Test in 2013/14, more than 90,000 attended! Melbournians just love it and it is such a joy to be part of it. Be there on Boxing Day 2017 in top category Platinum seats – behind the bowler’s arm and in the shade – ready for a most memorable Test match. The ground is within walking distance of our hotel but we also provide coach transfers should you prefer not to walk.
Saturday 30 December b dThis evening we say goodbye to Melbourne with a celebratory farewell dinner, including 3 courses and drinks.
Saturday 31 December b dThis morning we transfer to Melbourne airport for our short flight to Sydney. On arrival, we check into the Amora Hotel Jamison for nine nights. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
This evening we take you to the Taronga Centre for a fabulous New Year’s Eve Party with a 5-course dinner, beer, wine and soft drinks. Enjoy the brilliant view back towards the Bridge and Opera House of (arguably) the best fireworks in the world! It’s going to be a great night…
Monday 1 January bEnjoy a lie-in and a day at leisure to recover from the night before. If you have energy there is plenty to do ‘off-the-cuff’, although day trips would need to be pre-booked.
Tuesday 2 January b lToday we take you on a full day tour of Sydney including the historic Rocks area, Bondi Beach, the Botanic Gardens, a tour of Sydney Opera House and a cruise on the harbour. Lunch is included.
Wednesday 3 January bA day at leisure to further explore Sydney. You might like to take a ferry across to one of the Northern Beaches, climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge (N.B. you will need to pre-book. We can assist), take a day trip to the Blue Mountains or simply have a relaxing lunch watching the world go by.
Thursday 4th – Monday 8th January b
5th Test, Sydney Cricket GroundLike a Test match at Lord’s or Cape Town, the New Year’s Test at the SCG is an event in itself. If all the stars align, it might also be the match that decides the fate of the Ashes! We will take you there and back each day by coach and have you sitting in top category Platinum seats, behind the bowler’s arm and in the shade.
Friday 5 January b cThis evening we will host a private ‘Cricket’ cocktail party/forum where you will have the opportunity to meet and chat personally with our cricket celebrity guest. Canapés and drinks are included.
Monday 8 January b dTonight we say goodbye to Sydney with a farewell dinner, including 3 courses and drinks, as we celebrate retaining the Ashes (hopefully!).
Tuesday 9 January bThis morning we transfer to Sydney airport to catch our flights home or to Cairns to continue on our Port Douglas/Great Barrier Reef extension
